This week Asa Cox of Century 21 Asa Cox Homes came to speak about Asa's Angels and all that they provide, not only at Christmas, but all year round. Asa began her 501c3 charity, Asa's Angels about 17 years ago. This nonprofit, along with continued support of our community has allowed her to help many local families that find themselves in need.
Asa spoke about her young life and said because she was once a family in need; her background and knowledge led her onto this path of helping those in need. Each year she provides Christmas and Easter baskets to those families in need. She told several heartwarming and inspirational stories of the families that they have provided for in the past.
She told about her warehouse where she houses many things, furniture, clothing, house hold supplies, etc. that she gives to families who find themselves needing help. Asa said her warehouse almost looks like a department store because it is so organized, with new and used items. She said children in need can come and "shop" for items. Each child gets to pick out 5 new toys and 7 new outfits.
She also spoke about helping families through her real estate who are in need by helping them get low interest loans.
